Public Transportation
SEPTA, the transportation authority for Philadelphia, is the easiest way to get around the city if you don’t have a car. They have trains, trolleys and bus service throughout the city and even to the suburbs. The train fare is $2, but if you plan on staying in the city longer than a few days, they also offer a Weekly TransPass, which provides you with unlimited one-zone rides on any of mode of transportation.
You would also be able to use this pass to get from 30th Street Station to the airport. Their website (www.septa.com) has more information on their services, a trip planner, maps and schedules.
The Starlight Ballroom is near the Spring Garden stops on the Broad Street Line and the Market-Frankford Line. The venue is a walkable distance from both lines.
Plus, if you’re an iPhone fiend, SEPTA has its own iPhone app called “Septa Transit App.” It is offered on iTunes for $1.99.
