what band are you most excited to see at TIH 2011 and why?
I would say Token Entry. They stand out as one of my favorite bands to ever see live. They were always great!
In your opinion, is there any difference between the hardcore kids today and the ones 15 years ago?
The biggest difference seems to be how accessible the whole scene is now. The internet has taken the mystique out of finding new bands. Some of my fondest memories are searching through the reviews in the back of MRR and ordering anything that mentioned straight edge or NYHC. I love how much it has grown and many talented bands are being given chances that they may not have gotten a few years ago.
Of all the bands on TIH 2011, which band means the most to you?
Without a doubt that would be H20. Their songs mean so much to me. Also, I met Toby when I was 13 years old and I have looked up to him ever since. He has had such a positive impact on my life. I will always be thankful for that.
Damnation AD has a legacy that is felt throughout the generations of hc kids, what do you think stands out the most?
Most of the lyrics come from a very dark place. I really hope that when people read them they find peace and feel less alone. I have always found solace in very depressing lyrics because it made me feel better about what I was feeling. I knew I was not the only one who felt that lost and alone. My hope is that it can help people get through the nights that feel as if they will never end.
